Vazquez-Hernandez to stream Friday from Mexico starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT

The action begins Friday at Verité Social Venue in Monterrey, Mexico, as former lightweight world champion Miguel Vazquez battles Isai Hernandez in the 10-round junior welterweight main event.

Vazquez (42-10, 16 KOs) held the IBF lightweight world title for more than four years, from August 2010 to September 2014, and made six successful title defenses. He is 8-6 since losing the world title via split decision to Mickey Bey, but a few of those defeats have been controversial in nature, including last October’s split decision nod at the hands of Lewis Ritson. Hernandez (10-1-1, 7 KOs), from La Paz, Mexico, has won four consecutive fights since the lone defeat of his career.

In other streaming action from Mexico:

Former Cuban amateur standout Ariel Perez (5-0, 4 KOs) will take on Mexico’s Brandon Romero (11-1-1, 6 KOs) in a 10-rounder for the WBC Youth Intercontinental super bantamweight belt.

In an eight-round lightweight battle, Argentina’s Ronan Sanchez (5-0, 3 KOs) will fight Mexico’s Jonathan Escobedo (4-1, 1 KO).

Jonathan “Geo Don” Lopez (2-0, 2 KOs), a 17-year-old phenom who was born in Puerto Rico and had extensive success as a U.S. amateur, will face Omar Santillan (5-1) in a six-round featherweight tilt.

In other six-round bouts, welterweight veteran Ricardo Salas (15-1, 11 KOs) will face off against Sergio De Leon (8-4, 1 KO), while junior welterweight puncher Jimerr Espinosa (9-0, 8 KOs) looks to extend his knockout streak to three against Ricardo Diaz (8-4-1, 1 KO).

Several of MTK Global’s highly-rated stars will be in action on Friday when a stacked event takes place in Monterrey, Mexico.

The highly-anticipated event will be co-promoted by Miura Boxing, and will be broadcast on ESPN+ in the USA, on ESPN Knockout for Mexico and Latin America, and worldwide on IFL TV.

In the main event, former world champion Miguel Vazquez (42-10, 16 KOs) makes his return, taking on hard-hitting Isai Hernandez (10-1-1, 7 KOs).

Teenage sensation Jonathan Lopez (2-0, 2 KOs) squares off with Omar Santillan (5-1), while Chris Florez (4-0, 4 KOs), and Rafael Armenta (2-0-1, 1 KO) also return.

The planned fight between Neslan Machado and Brandon Romero has been forced off the card, after Machado suffered an injury.

Along with a number of MTK Global fighters, some of Miura’s talented fighters will be on the bill too, including Ariel Perez (5-0, 4 KOs), who goes up against Brandon Romero (11-1-1, 6 KOs) for the WBC Youth Intercontinental super-bantamweight title.

A clash of unbeaten fighters see Ronan Sanchez (5-0, 3 KOs) face Jonathan Escobedo (4-0, 1 KO), plus Ricardo Salas (15-1, 11 KOs) meets Sergio De Leon (8-4, 1 KO).

Rounding up the card, Jimerr Espinosa (9-0, 8 KOs) fights Ricardo Diaz (8-4-1, 1 KO), and Roberto Acosta (15-1, 8 KOs) takes on Saul Gutierrez (19-23-4, 8 KOs).

The planned WBC International Silver lightweight title fight between Christian Uruzquieta and Miguel Beltran has also been forced off the card.
